* finally having a chance to post this after no cell signal and then traveling to Colorado….better late than never!!

I just got done spending 2 weeks in the Sequoia National Forest /  Sequoia National Park / King’s Canyon National Park area and really feel in love! I camped in 2 National Forest campgrounds and 2 National Park campground….surprisingly it was cheaper to camp in the National Park campgrounds than the National Forest…..The King’s Canyon National Park campground was my favorite, the second time around I had a beautiful spot where I was away from others, had a nice stream and march to sit by and a good enough signal I could work….The National Forest hikes were close that by far that was the most convenient location.

I hiked well over 100 miles those 2 weeks, capped off my my second hike into the Jennie Lake Wilderness to Weaver Lake. The fog made it impossible to see the lake when I first got up there, but create some cool photographs…the fog lifted enough to see the entire lake and got some good views of my surroundings….I also met some real cool backpackers along the way, mazzy actually found a boyfriend as I chatted with 2 girls on the trail….I love backcountry backpackers!!! They are the best to chat with…

I was sad be leave, the forest provided a wonderful home for 2 weeks, I learned so much about the area, had a chance to go to the first Ranger programs of the summer….coming down the mountain I went from 6500 ft to 2000 and the temperature must have went up 20 degrees…..mazzy and i were not amused by the sudden heat!! But I needed food, tanks needed emptied and filled, I needed clean clothes and a shower in the worst way!!

I highly suggest exploring the entire area if anyone has the chance to get to this corner of California… Sequoia National Park gets all the fanfare but King’s Canyon National Park is awesome too….and less people, I believe I remember hearing its actually one of the less visited National Parks….but one of the oldest protected areas…

hear is my rather large photo gallery of my time in the trees of the Sierra’s….Im off to Oakhurst CA on a my somewhat slow journey back to Bend…..until next time : )
