Sahalie Falls in Winter

Written by:

I first visited Sahalie Falls last summer and just loved it! A hour and a half drive from Bend up and over the pass you can hike to 3 different falls along the McKenzie River, its a round trip hike (in the summer) that gives many wonderful, different views of all 3 of the falls. I was really excited to visit over the winter and of course I did not do my homework… when I arrived there was so much snow the parking lot was closed and had to park on the side of the highway. There was probably 4-5 feet of snow but so beautiful and a completely different experience than the one I had over the summer! The trail was narrow, but Mazzy and I made it to 2 of the 3 waterfalls and I only fell on my butt once : ) I’ve been really lucky with weather so far on my winter hikes as I got nothing but sun and warm temps for the winter!

Enjoy the photos….here is a map if anyone is ever in the area and want to see some Oregon waterfalls!!!
